“User Authorization” fails when testing LDAP authentication for HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator

Problem

You’ve completed modifying the Directory Settings configuration in the HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator so that you can use Active Directory credentials to log in:

However, when you try to test with Active Directory credentials under the Test Settings tab, you notice that the User Authorization step fails:

Solution

While there can be various reasons why the User Authorization step can fail, one of the reasons is if you did not include the distinguish name of the OU that contains the user account you’re logging in with so to correct this issue, enter the DN of the OU that contain the user accounts.
